Taylor Swift is a coronavirus prophet: She nailed it

Today, the CDC released updated guidelines related to coronavirus. They reiterate that the virus spreads easily from person to person, through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. There's nothing new in this respect, so if you're trying to help others avoid getting sick, keep wearing a mask and/or maintain social distance.

But what's new is that they've updated their guidance related to coronavirus being passed by touching an infected surface. Per the CDC:

The virus does not spread easily in other ways
[T]hese are not thought to be the main ways the virus spreads:

From touching surfaces or objects. It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about this virus.

From animals to people.

That sound you just heard is the mass cries of anguish from the executives at Clorox Wipes.

If you know someone who is spending half their day spraying down every object in their house that might at some point in the past half-year have been touched by someone, you can tell them their long nightmare is over. They can also stop spraying the pets with bleach. Their nightmare is over, too.

In the meantime, I'll point out that Taylor Swift called it all months ago: You need to calm down.

Who knew she was so far ahead of the curve?
